Welcome to PromoBricks.com

Here you will find my vast, and what I believe to be the most complete, collection of Duplo promo bricks as well as a history of each brick. I have tried to list the bricks in the order they came out to help show the timeline of the bricks, and also broke it down into smaller pages sorted by theme or where they were given out. I hope you find this site not only fun but informative.

What exactly are Lego Promotional Bricks?

Every so often there is an event that Lego would like to commemorate - such as the opening of a new Lego store or a new attraction at Legoland California or some other special event. When this happens Lego usually makes a special Duplo brick that is given out to people who just happen to be at the special event or store opening. Recently the popularity of these bricks has skyrocketed and Lego has taken note of this and is now making more of these promotional bricks than ever! Now not all events are commemorated by a Duplo promotional brick Legoland Deutschland gives out 2x4x3 system bricks. So far they are the only location that gives out system bricks (for more info on this see the system brick page).

So how did you get started collecting Lego Promotional Bricks?

Back in 2000 I was at Legoland CA and they had the 'Brick Or Treat' event and were giving out a promo brick along with other random goodies. I liked this brick but had no idea what it was or why it was special. After a few months passed I noticed some more of this style of bricks popping up on sites like Ebay and my curiosity was sparked. Collecting these bricks has always been a challenge in every aspect of collecting. First, finding out that a brick exists can take some work then you have to find one that somebody has for sale and that can be the most challenging part of it. I have always loved a good challenge and that is really what pushes me with my collection. I love trading bricks with other people - in fact that is how I obtained most of my bricks! There is only a few I have outright paid for (and every penny I have spent has been well spent). And I also get to interact with other Lego fans, and that is always fun!

Why make a site just for Lego Promotional Bricks?

I love Duplo Promotional Bricks (also known as Duplo Commemorative Bricks), I have been working on my collection of them since the year 2000. I am pretty sure I have most of the ones that have been put out. But the hardest part of collecting these bricks is finding out exactly what is out there. So I decided to put all the work and investigating I have done over the years into one place to help other would-be fans out. I have put much work into trying to figure out the history of each brick so I can share that history with others. I have gathered information from a few ex-Lego employees on some of the older bricks and have gathered information from various areas on the newer bricks.

Also, I only know of a few bricks that I do not have, and I hope this site helps to fill the few holes in my collection. You can see the bricks I need on my needed page. You can also find the story behind these bricks on the other pages - the bricks I need are noted by an "I NEED THIS BRICK" image as well as a RED outline.

And I made this site also in hopes of finding out if there are any promotional bricks out there I do not know about! So, if you have any bricks that are not pictured here, or have more information than what I have here then please email me! Just EMAIL ME and let me know! And if you do not see it, that means I need it! I am ALWAYS buying and trading for any bricks I do not have.

I hope my collection sparks an interest in these bricks, they are really neat to have especially if you know its history.
